Jeremy Clarkson and James May make shock Top Gear admission

Jeremy Clarkson and James May have made a shocking admission about their former show, Top Gear.

The pair presented the popular BBC motoring show alongside Richard Hammond for more than a decade before departing in 2015.

From there, they went on to present The Grand Tour on Prime Video before calling time on their adventures in 2024 with a final special entitled One For The Road.

Each has now gone their separate ways, choosing to focus on their own projects, with Mr May founding his James Gin brand.

The 61-year-old also visited Oxford with his Explorers: The Age of Discovery tour to play at the New Theatre last month.

Mr Clarkson runs both a farm and a pub in Oxfordshire, with both Diddly Squat Farm and The Farmer’s Dog featuring in his hit Prime Video show, Clarkson’s Farm.

But both can still be caught on frequent reruns of Top Gear on the BBC throughout the year.

One fan recently questioned this, asking Mr Clarkson and Mr May about the repeat episodes on the social media site X.

He asked: “Despite the BBC sacking everyone, I note on BBC3 [that there are] old Top Gear reruns.

“I assume you all still get paid for these?”

In a shocking admission, the 65-year-old responded: “I don’t.”

His former co-star, Mr May, then waded in and added: “Me neither.”
