Clarkson’s Farm season five has just premiered on Prime Video with the first four episodes showcasing the huge challenges Jeremy Clarkson has faced.

From personal health battles to unpredictable animals and high-tech machinery, Jeremy Clarkson and the Diddly Squat team were forced to tackle it all head-on.

One thing Clarkson was not prepared for was the devastating decision he was forced to make at the end of the fourth episode.

The former Top Gear host has always said his pigs are his favourite thing about the farm, but he had no choice but to let them go after a tough reality check.

He was told by a butcher that the pigs were not producing enough meat to be financially viable, and Clarkson had to say goodbye to them all, leaving him incredibly emotional.

At the end of episode four, he said he sadly had a job he was “dreading” as his beloved pigs were not producing enough meat.

“I had known there was only one option” he admitted. He told land agent Charlie Ireland: “I love the pigs, I have absolutely… I have just been delighted every day I’m down there.

“They make my heart sing, I’m so happy. But we are running a business here, and they make no financial sense at all.”

Sadly he had to say goodbye to all of the pigs. “The difference this time, though, is there would be no new piglets to replace them,” he reinforced.

Jeremy looked visibly distraught as the pigs were loaded into a trailer to be taken away.

“It was even harder to say goodbye to the next group,” he added as this group included one of the mothers from the first batch they had bought three years earlier.

“It’s for the better good” Kaleb Cooper assured him as Clarkson replied: “It’s still f****** sad.”

“As long as you cry once I’ve left,” the trailer driver Jess said and Jeremy quickly replied: “I’m not going to cry.” “Are you sure?” she asked.

The one bit of good news was that two of the original pigs were being sent to a school where children could learn about the farm animal.

“We are going to miss you” Clarkson told the two pigs. As he said his final goodbyes he was seen rubbing his eyes as he reached out to his partner Lisa Hogan for a hug.
